Regional Peace and Order Council Chairman and Pasay City Mayor Antonino “Tony” Calixto declared that the City is “all systems go” for the Lenten season next week.

The announcement was made during the Pasay Peace and Order Council meeting regularly attended by departments and offices critical in ensuring the safety and security of the City’s constituents.

The Pasay PNP said that as early as March 25, commissioned and non-commissioned personnel, will be posted in the TRAVEL CITY’s numerous shopping malls, bus terminals and LRT and MRT stations in Pasay. Police Assistance Desks will also be stationed in the 12 Catholic churches of the city.

Barangay officials and other force multipliers will likewise assist in maintaining peace, order and security, according to Mayor Calixto.

“We are actively involving the Barangays and the communities in ensuring the safe and peaceful observance of the Lenten season,” Mayor Calixto stated.

Meanwhile, the Pasay-Bureau of Fire is implementing a re-intensified and re-energized fire prevention information dissemination drive. Pasay experienced three incidences of fire which affected more than a thousand families in Barangays 184, 201 and 130 in February. The Fire Bureau said that its network of government and volunteer fire fighters will be on 24/7 red alert next week.

The Pasay Traffic Management Office, on the other hand, will beef up its personnel to provide traffic management and assistance during the Holy Week, particularly along EDSA, Taft Avenue and Buendia where most provincial bus terminals are located.
